Douglas A. Johnston, C.G.A., Partner

- Joined the accounting firm of Barclay Tarr Walters & Co. in 1974 and became partner in 1977. In 1990, he bought out the other partners and continued the practice.
- Obtained designation as a Certified General Accountant in 1976.
- Served as Director of Administration for the Nanaimo 2005 BC Disability Games Society.
- Served as President of United Way of Nanaimo.
- Served as Chairman of the Nanaimo Arena Society. This Society was largely responsible for the construction of the Cliff McNabb Arena.
- Served as Vice-Chairman of the Nanaimo Centennial Recreation Society. This Society was responsible for bringing the Royal Bank Cup Junior Canadian Hockey Championship to Nanaimo in 1998.
- Served as Chairman of the Heritage Area Revitalization Program (a committee for the City of Nanaimo) responsible for administration of the Fitzwilliam Street revitalization program.
- Served as Treasurer of the Nanaimo Child Development Centre.
- Served as a Director and Chapter Chairman of the Upper Vancouver Island Chapter of The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia.
- Audit experience includes audit leader for The Certified General Accountants Association of Canada and The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia.
- Was active in minor hockey as coordinator and coach in the Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association.
- Member of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Lantzville.
- Has served as a Director for the Greg Fox Memorial Committee (a group dedicated to the development of young tennis players.)

- Joined the firm in 1998.
- Obtained designation as a Certified General Accountant in 2003.
- Primarily involved in working with our private corporations.
- Experienced in working with clients requiring advanced corporate tax planning due to reorganization.
- Audit experience includes trust and property management audits for real estate, and legal associations.
- Previously served as treasurer and council member of Maranatha Foursquare Gospel Church.
Erin A. Gjelsvik, B.A. C.G.A.

- Graduated from Malaspina University College in 2006 and attained a Bachelor of Arts degree with Business Major in Accounting.
- Awarded scholarship from the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
- Obtained designation as a Certified General Accountant in 2008.
- Started in public practice accounting in May 2006.
- Joined the firm in 2007.
Jeff Merry

- Graduated from Malaspina University College in 2004 and attained a Business Management Diploma with Major in Accounting.
- Participated in a student exchange to Bay of Plenty Polytechnic College, Tauranga, New Zealand.
- Worked as the controller for a large group of associated corporations operating primarily in the land development and construction industry.
- Office Manager in non-publicly funded sector of the Department of National Defense.
- Active member and volunteer with Scouts Canada for twenty years.
- Member of the Rotary Club of Lantzville.
- Enrolled in the CGA Program of Professional Studies at PACE Level.
- Joined the firm in 2006.
Colleen Forcier, Support Staff

- Joined the firm in 2005.
- Responsible for reception and administrative duties.
- Variety of reception experience with legal firms and retirement residence.
Pauline Dickinson, Support Staff

- Joined the firm in 2005
- Graduated from B.C.I.T. in 1985.
- Responsible for the firm’s bookkeeping, payroll and billing.
- Bookkeeping experience in variety of businesses with most experience in Construction industry.
- Enrolled in the CGA Program of Professional Studies at Level 2
